Italy: Piazzale Michelangelo & Giardino Delle Rose

Yesterday I walked to the Piazzale Michelangelo because I’d heard that it had amazing views of the city and I was not disappointed. It’s a bit of a walk up hundreds of steps but it was worth it.

The View (if you click on the picture it should take you to youtube where you can see a short panoramic video I took of the view).

A replication of Michelangelo’s David stands in the center of the piazza.

A short thunderstorm broke while I was there and I took shelter in a bar where I had a delicious pastry and some cioccolata calda. When the storm ended I headed back down the steps and found the Giardino Delle Rose quite by accident.

The garden was home to a number of works by the artist Jean-Michel Folon.
