Italy: Fiesole & Notte Bianca

On Monday I took the bus to Fiesole, a small town on the outskirts of Florence. It has some amazing views of Florence, in addition to an archeological museum with Roman and Etruscan ruins. 20120503-212328.jpg

It was really amazing to walk among the ruins and see parts of buildings that were constructed over 1000 years ago. 20120503-212450.jpg

In the museum they had Etruscan, Greek, and Roman artifacts. 20120503-213126.jpg

Later that evening we all went out for Notte Bianca, when much of the city stays awake from 6pm to 6am for music, dancing, shopping, food, museums, and random acts of art. We only made it to 3am but it was definitely cool to see so many different performances. Every corner you turned was a different kind of music or art. 20120503-213337.jpg

    • I’m not sure why the towers are like that. I’ll have to ask my professor. But I do know that some of those things have to do with whether the family behind the building was Guelph or Ghibelline, because they had different patterns.
